Maho Prentice is offering a $5,000 scholarship opportunity for a high school senior who is graduating from a Santa Barbara County high school, and applying to a four-year college for the fall of 2025. 

Tyrone Maho and Chad Prentice are well-respected personal injury lawyers in Santa Barbara, California who are deeply involved in the community. They look forward to honoring the class of 2025.

This year, we are asking our scholarship applicants to reply to this prompt:

Ditch the highlight reel and get real. Tell us about a situation in your life you wish you could revisit and handle differently. How would you change it, and why?

Applicants are invited to write a 300-500 word essay, in their own handwriting and without the help of AI or ChatGPT, answering the above prompt, They are also required to include a resume (including their GPA), a copy of their high school transcript, and a declaration as to which college they plan to attend in the fall. 

The scholarship application opens on Friday, April 11, 2025. Please submit ALL documents (scanned-handwritten essay, resume, transcript and declaration) to our office manager, Andrea Johnson: ajohnson@sbcalaw.com by our deadline of Tuesday, May 26, 2025.

The 2025 scholarship recipient will be announced in June 2025.
