Bio

Tyrone J. Maho is a founder/partner of the law offices of Maho & Prentice, LLP with offices in Santa Barbara and Ventura County, California. His practice is in the area of civil litigation, particularly focused on representing plaintiffs in serious and catastrophic personal injury matters, including wrongful death, automobile, motorcycle, or bicycle accidents, premises liability, and product liability cases resulting in injuries, including trip and fall and slip and fall accidents due to the negligence of others.  Whether it is a fatal vehicular accident, automobile versus pedestrian injury accident, disfigurement from a dog bite, or a wide variety of accidents affecting minors, Tyrone J. Maho takes an active role in protecting the rights of the injured and securing maximum compensation for their injuries.

Serving as a litigator since 1989, Mr. Maho boasts extensive trial practice experience, having tried more than 50 jury trials in most Southern California County courthouses. Mr. Maho dedicates his practice to working tirelessly on behalf of the rights of the injured and has the unique perspective of having been on the defense side for many years – inuring to the benefit of his current clients. For close to 15 years, Mr. Maho served as primary litigation counsel for two major Fortune 13 companies across Southern California. Now, Mr. Maho offers high-quality representation to those individuals who have been injured by the conduct of individuals or businesses acting negligently or recklessly.

Mr. Maho is a member of CAALA, a well-known group of Los Angeles-based personal injury lawyers who excel at the practice of their craft. Mr. Maho founded and continues to serve as President of the Santa Barbara Trial Lawyers, a local group of attorneys who primarily practice on behalf of plaintiffs in personal injury matters.  Each month, Mr. Maho invites local experts (medical doctors, economists, etc.) to speak to the organization, helping to continually improve their practice and to foster a collegial environment amongst its members. Previously, Mr. Maho served on the Board of Directors for the Santa Barbara County Bar Association and was a civil litigation teacher at UCSB Extension for six years.

Regarding his community involvement, Mr. Maho has served as the President of the Gold Coast Chapter of the U.C. Davis Alumni Association and as President of Goleta Valley South Little League. He is particularly proud of being the founder of SPARKLE (Santa Barbara Patriotic Association for the Return of Kabooms to Light the Sky for Everyone), which is a non-profit organization that brought back the annual 4th of July Independence Day fireworks show to the City of Santa Barbara.

Mr. Maho is a founding member of the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Council, a non-profit organization that helps raise money for special equipment for law enforcement needs in Santa Barbara County. He has also served as an attorney coach of the Dos Pueblos High School Mock Trial team, which, in 2016, was Santa Barbara County and State of California champion.  Mr. Maho presently serves as a member of the Board of Trustees of Bishop Garcia Diego High School in Santa Barbara, CA.
